Default Attic access ladder

I went out and picked up a heavy duty access ladder for the area above the garage. They had cheaper all wood ladders, but had a weight capacity of ~225 pounds. This aluminum ladder access is rated for 375 pounds, and really stout feeling. I now have access into the 10' x 10' plywood loft area for my seldom used crap. I also got lucky as the ladder will drop down with both cars parked inside the garage.

I have the wood version in one of my houses. Feels like it is gonna break beneath me with every step.

havasu. how do you adjust the length of the ladder for different height ceilings. with the wooden one you can just cut some off the bottom. is that one adjustable?

It's pretty simple. The ladder itself has letter stamps in it, with hash marks. The removable feet also has letter stamps in it. My opening was 8' 2", so it told me to cut off ladder mark "C" and cut off foot mark "D", and when you bolt it back up, it fitted perfectly.
